"Error: java.lang.StackOverflowError: Initializing game Exit Code: -1"

I keep getting this error (above) when I try to load up the mods I have downloaded on the latest version of forge. I've tried redownloading all my mods cause I know some of them were out of date. I've tried going back a few versions, one at time, to see if they worked but I kept getting this freezing glitch where I could move around and everything but all mobs were frozen in place. I couldn't hit them or interact with them at all. Beds and doors I could break in half and items that I dropped would just disappear. Then I go and try to exit and save and it freezes at the save screen but no error like it's not responding. It keeps doing that after a few minutes of me playing in any world. Truly have no idea what it could be
