Posted July 6, 201312 yr Hello, I'm having trouble deciphering exactly what allows bonemeal to work on a custom crop. Namely, I was able to get it to work for a wheat-based crop but not a bumpkin-based one. As far as I can tell, the difference between what I have done for the two are minuscule, but perhaps I am missing something. The working wheat crop: package wert.drillgorg; import java.util.ArrayList; import java.util.Random; import cpw.mods.fml.relauncher.Side; import cpw.mods.fml.relauncher.SideOnly; import net.minecraft.block.Block; import net.minecraft.block.BlockCrops; import net.minecraft.block.BlockFlower; import net.minecraft.block.material.Material; import net.minecraft.client.renderer.texture.IconRegister; import net.minecraft.creativetab.CreativeTabs; import net.minecraft.item.Item; import net.minecraft.item.ItemStack; import net.minecraft.util.AxisAlignedBB; import net.minecraft.util.Icon; import net.minecraft.util.MathHelper; import net.minecraft.world.World; import net.minecraftforge.common.ForgeDirection; public class LadderPumpkinCrop extends BlockCrops { @SideOnly(Side.CLIENT) private Icon[] iconArray; public LadderPumpkinCrop(int par1) { super(par1); } @SideOnly(Side.CLIENT) public Icon getBlockTextureFromSideAndMetadata(int par1, int par2) { if (par2 < 7) { if (par2 == 6) { par2 = 5; } return this.iconArray[par2 >> 1]; } else { return this.iconArray[7]; } } @SideOnly(Side.CLIENT) public Icon getIcon(int par1, int par2) { if (par2 < 0 || par2 > 7) { par2 = 7; } return this.iconArray[par2]; } protected int getSeedItem() { return Drillgorg.ladderPumpkinSeed.itemID; } protected int getCropItem() { return Drillgorg.ladderPumpkin.blockID; } @SideOnly(Side.CLIENT) public void registerIcons(IconRegister par1IconRegister) { this.iconArray = new Icon[8]; for (int i = 0; i < this.iconArray.length; ++i) { this.iconArray[i] = par1IconRegister.registerIcon("drillgorg:ladderpumpkin_" + i); } } } http://pastebin.com/uTqr7AsE The non-working pumpkin stem crop: package wert.drillgorg; import java.util.ArrayList; import java.util.Random; import cpw.mods.fml.relauncher.Side; import cpw.mods.fml.relauncher.SideOnly; import net.minecraft.block.Block; import net.minecraft.block.BlockStem; import net.minecraft.client.renderer.texture.IconRegister; import net.minecraft.item.Item; import net.minecraft.item.ItemStack; import net.minecraft.util.Icon; import net.minecraft.world.World; import net.minecraftforge.common.ForgeDirection; public class LadderPumpkinStem extends BlockStem{ @SideOnly(Side.CLIENT) private Icon theIcon; protected LadderPumpkinStem(int par1) { super(par1, Drillgorg.ladderPumpkin); } @SideOnly(Side.CLIENT) public Icon func_94368_p() { return this.theIcon; } //@Override public ArrayList<ItemStack> getBlockDropped(World world, int x, int y, int z, int metadata, int fortune) { ArrayList<ItemStack> ret = new ArrayList<ItemStack>(); for (int i = 0; i < 3; i++) { if (world.rand.nextInt(15) <= metadata) { ret.add(new ItemStack(Drillgorg.ladderPumpkinSeed)); } } return ret; } @SideOnly(Side.CLIENT) public void registerIcons(IconRegister par1IconRegister) { this.blockIcon = par1IconRegister.registerIcon("stem_straight"); this.theIcon = par1IconRegister.registerIcon("stem_bent"); } } http://pastebin.com/ysQYv3Sn I'd greatly appreciate it if somebody could provide me with instructions on how to get bone meal growth to work for the pumpkin crop, and perhaps explain what is making it different from the wheat one. Thanks in advance, ~Wert Ac http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn217/Wert_Ac/NewWertHammer2small.png[/img]
July 6, 201312 yr Well for the pumpkin type, for one, I'd take a guess and say that you should look at the methods in BlockStem... public void fertilizeStem(World par1World, int par2, int par3, int par4) { int l = par1World.getBlockMetadata(par2, par3, par4) + MathHelper.getRandomIntegerInRange(par1World.rand, 2, 5); if (l > 7) { l = 7; } par1World.setBlockMetadataWithNotify(par2, par3, par4, l, 2); }
July 6, 201312 yr Author I attempted adding that to the class and it didn't seem to do anything. I also took note that BlockCrops has the same method, but wasn't needed for my custom wheat crop to work correctly. Is there something more specific I'm supposed to do with it? http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn217/Wert_Ac/NewWertHammer2small.png[/img]
July 6, 201312 yr Author Ah, thank you. I will look into that. Edit: Works perfectly! http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn217/Wert_Ac/NewWertHammer2small.png[/img]
