Zombified piglins keep spawning the nether portal

I'm playing on forge 1.16.5. I know its a beta, but at least this post could help for the official release. When I light up a nether portal, zombified piglins keep spawning from nowhere. I go through the portal, there isnt a single zombie piglin in a 40 block radius. What can be done for now? Thank you
