forge 1.8.9 profile not loading on macOS big sur plz help I'm dying

I wanted to get cool mods on my favourite pvp version of mc but forge 1.8.9 doesn't seem to work on macOS big sur (well not on mine anyways) it works with 1.12.2 and later tho
