  1. Okay... that worked. *face palm* thanks.
  2. but just adding a profile does not enable mods, or do anything special... it's just a regular 1.11.2 profile
  3. how exactly would i do that? go into the file and add the profile, but i am not keen on code. and that does not explain why the other version did not add the base files. i guess i would need to change profiles format to 3? and add something like this }, "forge": { "name": "forge", "type": "custom", "created": "2017-05-13T22:17:51.943Z", "lastUsed": "2017-05-15T21:02:06.477Z", "lastVersionId": "1.11.2-forge1.11.2-12.18.3.2185" } },
  4. Today and downloaded a couple of mods for 1.11.2, but i noticed i have not installed 1.11.2 from forge. i attempted to download 1.11.2 and the proper files are in "Versions" however i could not launch that profile. i ended up deciding to look in the Launcher_profiles.json and i only have two profiles there. my regular "latest release" and forge 1.7.10. no forge 1.11.2. all the files under "Versions" are fine but the profile is not being loaded into the json which i think is the error, i have no clue as to what else it may be. I removed all mods and closed the launcher before attempting to install 1.11.2. i also attempted to install another version (1.8.9 i think) and it failed today as well. the forge was under "Versions" however the regular, non forge, version itself was not installed which is odd because when i installed 1.7.10 it did install the non-forge version as well, the (1.8.9?) was also not added to profiles. i deleted the version after i checked the files because i found no reason to keep it. please note I installed 1.7.10 and 1.10.2 yesterday fine although i did delete 1.10.2 because i originally thought i might have too many profile
