Okay i figured out what you meant by 355 and installed it from here http://adf.ly/673885/http://files.minecraftforge.net/minecraftforge-universal-6.0.1.355.zip i also used MultiMc to instal forge, but the problem persists. [Edit] I figured it out before your comment.

How do "I update to build 355"? currently iv'e been using mcpatcher.

I tried installing forge but after installing i launched minecraft and it froze at the done loading screen. I am using 7zip, minecraft version 1.4.2, Forge version 6.0.1 This is a fresh install of minecraft with no mods. And I followed all the directions (including deleting the Meta-inf) I down loaded 6.0.1 here http://www.minecraftforge.net/wiki/Main_Page
