Please post the log of the forge installer if the following doesn't work. Make sure you are using the installer jar not exe. You have run the minecraft launcher on the version of forge you want to install. Read the EAQ

Just a shot in the dark as french is my fourth language but I'm pretty sure means theres already an existing connection. Whens the last time you have turned your computer off and on again this might solve your issue. Also does this issue happen to vanilla minecraft servers too or just forge servers?

If it is not your server go ask on their forums. Most good server owners know all the common issues that come along with their modded servers and how to fix them as it may be a common issue they have.

Your server is either not connected to the internet or is in offline mode post logs for more help.

You could post the logs. There is no way you could install them wrong as you just have to drag them into the mods folder.

This is an issue with the mods contact the mod authors and ask them to fix it.

I think that is more to deter the people from posting stuff like forge doesn't work when they are trying to run 1.7.10 mods on the most recent version. You have plenty of data to back up this issue. I doubt it will get fixed anytime soon as optimization isn't a high priority. You're probably fine making that git issue.

It's always interesting to see people who care about optimization in the forge community as it doesn't happen too often. Could you be more specific as to what you mean by "Posting this here as per Github issue template."

Yea I played around with it a bit and I think it might be a bug unless I'm doing something wrong too. You can make a git issue on the forge GitHub and it will probably get fixed at some point.

If the mod is not on curse forge it is probably a fake. Post logs.

First off forge and sponge forge are not related so you may be better off asking them. The client log is missing a lot. Caught exception from Minecraft Forge (forge) usually means its a core mod or sponge. Maybe try removing Thaumcraft.

Do what it's telling you to do download the Minecraft server jar for your version and put it in the folder. You may have to rename it to 'minecraft_server.1.12.2.jar' so forge is happy.

I'm assuming this is a mod you are making could you post all the code on GitHub?
