I figured out with the help of my friends that the mods i have downloaded were not 1.12.2 even though the download links told me they were.

I downloaded Minecraft forge and I am not able to play it. When ever I click "play" on my launcher, the launcher closes then re opens with a crash report. I do not have optifine and none of the other forums has helped me.
