  1. After a bit more research i found that java itself was using -Xmx256 as the system default. this can be changed by going to system> advanced settings> environmental variables and changing the -Xmx256 to a larger number.

  3. I have been trying to install any current version of forge but every time i get it installed the game freezes just before the new world is created or the existing world is loaded. I have tried allocating more ram using the -Xmx command in the advanced settings and have tried uninstalling minecraft completely multiple times and nothing seems to work. I've attached the crash report and the log from my most recent crash. any help would be appreciated. Thanks latest.log crash-2018-05-15_02.29.19-server.txt
