You have to open that menu and click on the "more information link" under the file it flagged, at which point Firefox will say OMG THIS FILE IS GOING TO DESTROY YOUR COMPUTER PROBABLY but it gives you the option to either delete the file or open it. If you choose to open the file and then click cancel on the dialog box that follows the file will be the the proper, correct size and you can use it normally.

 

Every day I learn something new is a good day, thanks, that was the issue.

Only add-ons I have running are the flash and/or html player and ghostery and Ive tried flipping both to disabled.

Ive tried both.  They save to the file but the size is 0kb.

 

Not sure what the deal is, Ive used many downloads from here before without any problems.

Unfortunately your friend isnt the only one with that issue and my java is up-to-

date.
