Well 2838 would not start and a user on Discord recommended I check what version of Optifine I had because I had Optifine E2 which was incompatible with Forge 2838, so once I got Optifine E3 for 1.12.2 it let me run 2838 no problem.

I fixed it would you like to know how?

DaemonUmbra I can't get the logs because it doesn't crash. I hit play and the launcher closes and when I reopen the launcher and hit play again it says it is running already even though it isn't.

What do you mean DaemonUmbra?

When I hit PLAY with Forge 1.12.2 - 14.23.5.2838 loaded it closes the launcher and nothing else opens and then when I try to open Minecraft again it says it is already running even though in Task Manager it isn't.
