    believe it or not i actually managed to fix it. for whatever reason my laptop was trying to launch it with an outdated version of java i didn't even know was on it

    i downloaded it from the forge web sight, clicked on their installer icon specifically and i've tried various versions of the installer but my goal on is 1.15.2 the suggested fix was jarfix but it doesn't seem to have any effect on it

    i cant get forge to run at all, not entirely sure what "could not find the main class" means but its not something i know how to fix for certain.
