  1. 1. I do, I've set making a mod as a challenge and it's my first mod, it's a challenge because Java sin't my strongest language and it's something I've wanted to do for ages. 2. "I found one on youtube, but it's for an older version and he hasn't really said how to update it:(" I have been "googling" tutorials for a simple sword and not found one for 1.4.7. I was just asking if anybody knew a tutorial...
  2. Hello, I'm creating a mod which required some new armour and a sword (made of my new ore) Does anybody know good tutorials, I found one on youtube, but it's for an older version and he hasn't really said how to update it:( Do you know any tutorials, or perhaps make a quick one if you're advanced? Thanks Edit: It's just swords I'm stuck on now:/
  3. My class isn't called Generic. the main class is generic.class and all the rest are Generic"".class apart from the CommonProxy and so on. Yeah, it's the Forge tutorials, if you mean it's messy it's because on the tutorials if created new mods each time, but I like to keep everything in one file when it's a tutorial.
  4. Or here is the .java files: http://www.mediafire.com/?3vebqk5gqdf6fz2
  5. Sorry, here it is: http://www.mediafire.com/?9cgi5o3ylfsrk5g
  6. So, I've made the generic mod from the tutorials, and Eclipse said everything was fine, Minecraft ran fine in eclipse and no crashing/bugs/glitches. But, I ran compile then re-obfuscate and zipped up the "generic" file reobf > minecraft > tutorial > generic And the wiki said to put my mod in the mods folder.. and I did and nothing happend, I put it in coremods, again nothing.. So, I did the old put everything in the jar, and now it crashed with If you're experienced, this might sound stupid, but how do I actually install my own mod!? EDIT: My .rar actually needed to be .zip thanks for assistance, it's now working
