    well i tried to update to the highest forge for support, but it still keeps opening as notepad. what else should i do?

    so i just got a brand new PC and was hoping to play minecraft with mods like my previous PC could do but every mod or forge i download, it goes to note pad or internet explorer. i have download Java but i can not find it in my files. any help would be greatly appreicated!
