I got the server up and running thanks for the help

ok so Im guessing i have to play on 1.17 but im trying to make a server for 1.16.5, is that not possible or does the server type not have to match Minecraft's world and mod type?

how would I change that to set it to java?

so Im kinda new to making servers and i wanted to make a modded server for my friends but every time I try this pops up in my command prompt C:\Users\32dda\OneDrive\Desktop\server>java -Xmx2048M -Xms20480M -jar forge.jar nogui Error occurred during initialization of VM Initial heap size set to a larger value than the maximum heap size C:\Users\32dda\OneDrive\Desktop\server>pause Press any key to continue . . . as a result of this, the files wont load and I can't make a modded server
