  1. I uninstalled every version of java completely, and then made sure to reinstall java 16.02 again correctly but the exact same error occured. javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target. I don't think it is a problem with my java installation but if so im not sure what it might be.
  2. I just tried to reinstall java and it did not work, so i tried going back to java 8 301 and it still did not work, and even after trying different versions of forge the exact same error occurred. Thanks for trying to help though.
  3. I used the forge installer for 1.17.1 and no matter what i tried or did I kept encountering the same problem, whenever tried to run the installer it was unable to download the libraries due to this error. Ps. I am using java version 16.02 and running windows 10 javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target. Now I am quite sure I am just being quite stupid here but no matter where I looked I could not find a solution that i understood how to do, so can someone please help me find what the problem is and how to fix it? I am unsure how to post the log files here but all it says is basically that it cannot download the libraries due to that error I pasted up there. Thank you.
