Could it be because I hadn't loaded into the world it initially generated and just put in my own single player world file?

I'm trying to setup a local forge server but I'm running into this issue where I can load into the world and I have my inventory but there's no ground and I seem to just fall until the server crashes and kicks me out I'm not quite sure what's going on everything should be compatible?
