No. Works fine. If I wash the world, erase it, everything works fine. The server updates, to a new world, and will load and play fine. So something has went wrong in the (our) world itself, it's not spreading. So that tell me the software on the client and server is working, it's just (our) world and it's perimeters. If I leave this world on any 1.16 version or older it works fine. If I try to update to any 17 or newer version it will load and all the block values are randomized. It doesn't crash. But it's funny as the grass is railroad tracks standing vertical, and just crazy stuff. I have back ups, so I can put it back. I have updated Java, thinking that is why it couldn't talk correctly....Have the right java version. Reinstalled the client. I see that vanilla resource pack....the server was originally vanilla, but that would have been 2 years ago when it was switched over. This world is old, so it's why we are trying to save it. I thought maybe I could pull the seed, and build files, and try again, but we haven't figured that out yet to get it to work correctly.

that makes sense....but the software version installed on the server, aternos server, is forge... I see the vanilla resource packs you are referring to...so I don't know how to point it to a forge resource pack, or how that got replaced by vanilla. So let say if I just switch is back to vanilla, then I loose the whole world. It re writes.

I have tried to update to 1.18, doesn't help. https://pastebin.com/vvyKZib9

I have a forge server, no mods, on 1.16.5 that works great. When updated to 1.17.1 I get this in my log...all of the world block values are random, and not correct. https://pastebin.com/1MHsPZ0X

java.util.ConcurrentModificationException Exit Code: -1 Error executing task on Client java.lang.IllegalStateException: Invalid entity data item type for field 18 on entity bhk['Creeper'/439, l='ClientLevel', x=136.93, y=65.31, z=-675.50]: old=false(class java.lang.Boolean), new=2391(class java.lang.Integer) I get these 2 errors, I just copied one of the error scripts for the block, but I have one for every block in game. They all say the same, except the description of the block changes. I have a forge server, no mods, currently works great in 1.16.5, however, when I update to 1.17 or anything higher, basically every block in the game is randomized. Nothing has a true value. Example is the chicken are salmons, the dolphins are polar bears, and the horses are dolphins. You can place a block and it immediately changes to a random block in the game. Also, it's like nether is in the world, example is the dragon is flying around randomly. I have updated Java, I have reinstalled everything. I have been at this for like 5 months trying to figure this out.

I have a server on Forge, no mods installed, version 1.16.5. If I try to do any update on a new release the placed block values randomize. Basically, the grass turns to rail road tracks, horses are dolphins grazing grass, chickens are fish sliding around on the grass, and the ender dragon is raining fire and hell down on the world. It's a interesting take on the game. However, you can't play this scrambled mess. The block will look correct in your hand, but once place it's anyone's guess what it becomes. There is literally zombie army's marching single file LOL...So the server is currently stuck on 1.16.5 and I can't update it basically. If I reload my backup to the version 1.16.5 all order is restored. I have updated my account, java, and reinstalled Minecraft. Single player works fine on new world creations....it's just this server and trying to update. It has been updated many times in the past, as it's a couple years old...any suggestions?
