i'm just trying to get a pretty simple forge 1.8.9 template for me to use. i have tried looking at tutorials but i'm on macbook so its a bit different.

so i have been trying to starting making a forge mod in version 1.8.9 but i just don't know how to set it up in intellij. i have tried the https://files.minecraftforge.net/net/minecraftforge/forge/index_1.8.9.html but it didn't really work for me because im on mac so the tutorials didn't really match up, and i have also tried this forge template on github https://github.com/DxxxxY/1.8.9ForgeTemplate but i don't really know if i can trust it since he's a known ratter. so does anyone have any simple 1.8.9 forge templates?
