Thank You, I'll be giving MultiMC a shot now.
-
seems that neither the vanilla launcher nor forge b1245 downloads and installs the library "level":
org/apache/logging/log4j/Level
I'm at a complete loss here and from what I can see based diesieben07 response is that "we aren't supposed" to use launchers anymore, ie going back to the archaic way of doing things.
Gosh, I really hoping I'm taking that out of context. Please tell me that I am.
-
Darn, there goes Technic Launcher then including their new beta.
Do you know off hand which launchers out there setup the libraries correctly?
-
Alright so:
-D-legacy.debugClassLoading=true
is that what I need to pass on the command line?

Decided to create a 1.8.x modpack in Technic Launcher, got a server going but the client bombs immediately with the following:
[b#149] javaw.exe -XX:HeapDumpPath=MojangTricksIntelDriversForPerformance_javaw.exe_minecraft.exe.heapdump -Xmx8192m -XX:MaxPermSize=256m -Djava.library.path=G:\Technic_Launcher\modpacks\kreezcast-extreme\bin\natives -Dfml.core.libraries.mirror=http://mirror.technicpack.net/Technic/lib/fml/%s -Dminecraft.applet.TargetDirectory=G:\Technic_Launcher\modpacks\kreezcast-extreme -cp G:\Technic_Launcher\cache\net\minecraft\launchwrapper\1.11\launchwrapper-1.11.jar;G:\Technic_Launcher\cache\org\ow2\asm\asm-all\5.0.3\asm-all-5.0.3.jar;G:\Technic_Launcher\cache\com\typesafe\akka\akka-actor_2.11\2.3.3\akka-actor_2.11-2.3.3.jar;G:\Technic_Launcher\cache\com\typesafe\config\1.2.1\config-1.2.1.jar;G:\Technic_Launcher\cache\org\scala-lang\scala-actors-migration_2.11\1.1.0\scala-actors-migration_2.11-1.1.0.jar;G:\Technic_Launcher\cache\org\scala-lang\scala-compiler\2.11.1\scala-compiler-2.11.1.jar;G:\Technic_Launcher\cache\org\scala-lang\plugins\scala-continuations-library_2.11\1.0.2\scala-continuations-library_2.11-1.0.2.jar;G:\Technic_Launcher\cache\org\scala-lang\plugins\scala-continuations-plugin_2.11.1\1.0.2\scala-continuations-plugin_2.11.1-1.0.2.jar;G:\Technic_Launcher\cache\org\scala-lang\scala-library\2.11.1\scala-library-2.11.1.jar;G:\Technic_Launcher\cache\org\scala-lang\scala-parser-combinators_2.11\1.0.1\scala-parser-combinators_2.11-1.0.1.jar;G:\Technic_Launcher\cache\org\scala-lang\scala-reflect\2.11.1\scala-reflect-2.11.1.jar;G:\Technic_Launcher\cache\org\scala-lang\scala-swing_2.11\1.0.1\scala-swing_2.11-1.0.1.jar;G:\Technic_Launcher\cache\org\scala-lang\scala-xml_2.11\1.0.2\scala-xml_2.11-1.0.2.jar;G:\Technic_Launcher\cache\lzma\lzma\0.0.1\lzma-0.0.1.jar;G:\Technic_Launcher\cache\net\sf\jopt-simple\jopt-simple\4.5\jopt-simple-4.5.jar;G:\Technic_Launcher\modpacks\kreezcast-extreme\bin\modpack.jar;G:\Technic_Launcher\modpacks\kreezcast-extreme\bin\minecraft.jar net.minecraft.launchwrapper.Launch --username Kreezxil --version 1.8-Forge11.14.0.1245-1.8 --gameDir G:\Technic_Launcher\modpacks\kreezcast-extreme --assetsDir G:\Technic_Launcher\assets --assetIndex 1.8 --uuid 8a1968e652164a8ca37c4582db6dcd64 --accessToken dcff7daa67d6442fbcd76277a8cb1f7b --userProperties {} --userType mojang --tweakClass net.minecraftforge.fml.common.launcher.FMLTweaker --title KreezCast Extreme --icon G:\Technic_Launcher\assets\packs\kreezcast-extreme\icon.png [b#149] Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/logging/log4j/Level [b#149] at net.minecraft.launchwrapper.Launch.launch(Launch.java:94) [b#149] at net.minecraft.launchwrapper.Launch.main(Launch.java:28) [b#149] Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.apache.logging.log4j.Level [b#149] at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:372) [b#149] at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:361) [b#149] at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) [b#149] at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:360) [b#149] at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:424) [b#149] at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher.java:308) [b#149] at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:357) [b#149] ... 2 more [b#149] Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM warning: ignoring option MaxPermSize=256m; support was removed in 8.0
Is this an issue with Forge 1.8 or something else?
Also is there a fix for this?
I saw in a previous thread someone got banned for posting an error just like this, I have two legit accounts for minecraft.
-
They are, via configuring the environment variables passed into Minecraft.
If you're asking for a config file, then hell no.
So what I want would look like:
--legacy.debugClassLoading=true
please correct if I am wrong.
Thanks.
-
That nice to know. Is there any plans to make the debug features settable via config in the future?
-
Not reliably, no.
Does forge have any kind of extreme debug mode?
-
Dratz! More proof that OpenEye doesn't help. Ok, thanks for the info.
-
it's my modpack. so there is no way to tell which one it is from the logs.
-
My technic console log: http://pastebin.com/22A8N0g5
My server is reporting no issues with the same mods
However, my problem is that forge is not telling me anything that I understand as to what the problem is, can anyone help me?

Wow, MultiMC really did it right! Thanks again!
