So i just fixed my problem with running forge with java 1.7 instead of 1.6 but now i have to do the same for the server and I have no idea what to do

That program isn't giving me anything, just a blank text edit document. I tried the 2nd option underneath that, and all it showed me was the java 1.6.0.jdk I uninstalled java and reinstalled the java 7 version i downloaded, and nothing happened. I took out the 1.6.0.jdk folder and reinstalled java 7 again and it just made a new folder with the same name (1.6.0.jdk) so i have no idea what to do...

I followed the /System/Library/Java path, and I only found the 1.6.0.jdk, nothing else...

OHHHHH I just clicked edit profile and saw right above the jvm arguments it says /System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0.jdk/Contents/Home/bin/java what should I type to switch it to java 1.7 or 1.8

I did, i installed java 7 and 8 and the java 7 checker mod still says im on 1.6.0_65

So as you can see from the title, I'm trying to install HEE mod and it comes with a java 7 checker. My mac, when updated to OS X Yosemite, required java 6 for minecraft. So i couldn't use the mod. I then clicked the download link from java for the newest version like java 8 or something. I installed it but when i run forge with HEE and the java 7 checker mod, it still says i don't have java 7 or up. how do i solve this issue

mod's still not working, it says i only have 3 mods installed, and those are the 3 that come with forge

i got it in a zip file and i double clicked the zip file and got the first folder you saw. idk what you want me to do

Hi I'm trying to install the village marker mod for 1.7.2 but I don't know what to do because when I download it, instead of the .jar i get a folder with .class files in it. I tried putting it in my mods folder and loading minecraft but it didn't register as a new mod being in the folder. What should I do?? btw i dont know how to post a photo on here so if someone tells me i can show you a couple screen shots of what it looks like

My computer needs that version for minecraft . THANK YOU!!! I didn't realize when i switched back to 1.7.10 that it reset my maxpersize and I didn't think to look there lol. Thank you again.

I have been playing forge 1.7.10 and i tried going back to 1.7.2 because of a mod i wanted to use for a couple minutes, now when i go back to 1.7.10, minecraft won't launch. Here is the fml-client-latest.log: https://gist.githubusercontent.com/anonymous/739f0c3cb620dec6aea6/raw/gistfile1.txt

so my minecraft will launch but i can't connect to my multiplayer server. I just tried adding the extra utilities mod and now im getting errors. I'm trying to add the openblocks mod to minecraft, I have the open eye mod with it as well, but the openblocks mod won't work. I took out all the mods and it still wouldn't work. I took out openblocks and left in open eye and it worked and minecraft successfully launched, but Idk what to do to make openblocks mod work. Yes I've read the EAQ and i've seen this multiple times, "java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space: Increase your PermGen Space with the following command line argument: -XX:MaxPermSize=256m" but where the hell do i type "-XX:MaxPermSize=256m"

When i click play on minecraft, it starts to load and it gets to the white mojang screen but doesn't get passed that. I've left it loading for 10-15 min a couple times but i still get nothing. every mod works without IC2 in the server, IC2 works without everything else in the server, everything together causes the minecraft freezing

ok so i took out industrial craft 2 and i was able to log in to singleplayer and my server. is there a way to reinstall industrial craft 2 that will allow me to log in
