I'm trying to make a jetpack for minecraft forge 1.8 and it works but the flying looks bad because I currently just enable flying does anybody have any suggestion on how to make the flying look smoother

Im Making A dartGun for minecraft but it currently fires an arrow out of the head. Im trying to make it shoot out of the barrel of the gun but I cant figure out how to find what direction the player is facing and using that direction to create a formula for spawning it exact each time
