  1. hmm.. is there any way to check and see if its something with the servers?
  2. Didn't think you suspected anything, just wanted to be clear about it, ive been accused of using a hacked client before when in all reality i havent touched one. anyways just ran the forge installer, hit install client, it said it installed then windows said it may not have installed correctly, i still have the windows compatability assistant window open. [EDIT: lol forgot to include log derp here it is i created a new folder like you suggested and it appeared immediately after
  3. http://postimg.org/image/4l13kr8rf/ http://postimg.org/image/4c131uvp9/ Heres "proof" of my account and that i'm not using a cracked launcher, if its not enough give me some criteria and ill post more pictures. Either way its not cracked so thats not the problem, and as for the log ill try to find out why its not being created (or if it is, where it's going)
  4. Let me know if you're able to find anything from the launcher log. In the mean time, do you think downgrading java could fix it and if i were to downgrade to java7 would 1.8.9minecraft still work? [Edit: also how would i go about doing that?]
  5. i found two log files from fml installers neither of which were for the version i installed most recently
  6. i'm using the default minecraft launcher and i used the exe installer (i'm on windows 7 sp1)
  7. Whenever i try to play minecraft all that happens is the launcher says "downloading" and then goes right back to "play" and nothing happens. i looked at the log and it says "[15:55:21 ERROR]: Gave up trying to download http://files.minecraftforge.net/maven/net/minecraftforge/forge/1.7.10-10.13.4.1614-1.7.10/forge-1.7.10-10.13.4.1614-1.7.10.jar for job 'Version & Libraries'" right at the bottom. i'm not sure if this is why but i recently updated java. Here's the full launcher log.
