  1. Just to clarify for anyone reading this later, I realized that the forge installer had put itself in the .minecraft root directory and was therefor getting files from very old versions, circa 2013/2014. I've put the forge profile in its own folder now and the problems have been resolved.
  2. Hm, I see. I didn't realize that Forge used a universal mods folder. That doesn't seem ideal. Regardless, that seems to have done the trick. I figured it must have been something simple that I overlooked. Thank you very much for the help!
  3. I noticed that it did make some mention of an optifine forgetweaker, but I'm not sure where it's getting it from... How would I get rid of it? Remove every profile that might have optifine installed? That seems a bit drastic.
  4. I attempted to install Forge 1.8.9 but as the title states it throws exceptions upon launch. I downloaded and tried both (standard and windows) recommended 1.8.9 Forge installers with the same results. I have added no mods or made any other changes to the forge profile. Maybe there's something obvious I've missed, but I am not an experienced Forge user and normally play vanilla. Any assistance would be highly appreciated! Below is the Game Output from the failed launch. I'm not sure if there is more information available that I can supply but please let me know if there's more I can provide. Thanks!
