Hello! I Got A New Mac Big Sur, and I downloaded forge (I tried with others versions) and when I launch it crashes! If we can’t fix it, does that mean that I need to buy a new Mac? I Hope It can be fixed 😃

The Message After Crash:

The game crashed whilst initializing game

Error: java.lang.IllegalStateException: GLFW error before init:

[0x10008]Cocoa: Failed to find service port for display

This is Apple removing an old graphics API without giving the community time to update to the new API.

It's been fixed but Mojang hasn't updated older MC versions to use the fixed version of the library, they plan to use the updated version for 1.17 though.

Post your installer log, found in the same place you ran the installer

This log will be called either installer.log or named the same as the installer but with .log on the end

Note for Windows users:

Windows hides file extensions by default so the installer may appear without the .jar extension then when the .log is added the log will appear with the .jar extension

Where to get it:

Mojang Launcher: When using the Mojang launcher debug.log is found in .minecraft\logs.

Curse/Overwolf: If you are using the Curse Launcher, their configurations break Forge's log settings, fortunately there is an easier workaround than I originally thought, this works even with Curse's installation of the Minecraft launcher as long as it is not launched THROUGH Twitch:

If you don't see logs generated in the usual place, provide the launcher_log.txt from .minecraft

1.17 will be fixed, older versions won't be, you'll need to wait for 1.17

  The title pretty much says it all- I'm looking for some assistance regarding doing just that- Considering I have the logic required for triggering the condition I have in mind, it's rather hard to find documentation on the correct use of EntityMixins to accomplish the goal I have in mind. Any assistance/tips would be greatly appreciated!

  Do not run minecraft_server.1.7.10.jar You should be running the forge jar.

  Cracked launchers are not supported, you must buy the game. Complaining will do nothing. Given the amount of mods out there, and how many ways the game can be played, it's really one of the best deals out there for buying a game. Save up your allowance. *even thought Microsoft sucks.
