Hello, nothing appears to be happening when I right click my item in the world.

Any help/suggestions are much appreciated, thanks.

public class SpecialItem extends Item {

	private World world;
	private PlayerEntity player;
	public BlockPos lookingAt;

	public SpecialItem(Properties properties) {
		super(properties);
	}

	public ItemStack onItemRightClick(ItemStack item, World world, PlayerEntity player) {
		Block block = Blocks.SAND;
		double xcoord = player.getX();
		double ycoord = player.getY();
		double zcoord = player.getZ();
		BlockPos blockPos = new BlockPos(xcoord, ycoord, zcoord);
		world.setBlockAndUpdate(blockPos, block.defaultBlockState());
        return item;
    }

If you put an override annotation on the method, does it give you an error. If so, why do you think that error is there? How can you resolve it? Is the method signature correct? Are you providing the correct method name based on the mapping set you are using?

Thanks

Fixed:

	@Override
	public ActionResult<ItemStack> use(World world, PlayerEntity player, Hand hand) {
		Block block = Blocks.SAND;
		double xcoord = player.getX();
		double ycoord = player.getY();
		double zcoord = player.getZ();
		BlockPos blockPos = new BlockPos(xcoord, ycoord, zcoord);
		world.setBlockAndUpdate(blockPos, block.defaultBlockState());
		return super.use(world, player, hand);
	}
