Trouble launching Minecraft through Eclipse

Recommended Posts

I've been trying to get Eclipse to launch Minecraft via runClient. It will open Minecraft for a split second before crashing. I've tried to mess around with the JDK version but have just gotten different errors.

The current error I am getting:

java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: java/nio/IntBuffer.clear()Ljava/nio/IntBuffer; (loaded from /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/adoptopenjdk-8-openj9.jdk/Contents/Home/jre/lib/rt.jar by <Bootstrap Loader>) called from class net.minecraft.client.renderer.texture.TextureUtil (loaded from jar:file:/Users/oliviasorensen/.gradle/caches/forge_gradle/minecraft_user_repo/net/minecraftforge/forge/1.12.2-!/net/minecraft/client/renderer/texture/TextureUtil.class by net.minecraft.launchwrapper.LaunchClassLoader@7b8e987b).

System information:

    Minecraft Version: 1.12.2
    Operating System: Mac OS X (x86_64) version 10.15.7
    Java Version: 1.8.0_275, Eclipse OpenJ9
    Java VM Version: Eclipse OpenJ9 VM (JRE 1.8.0 Mac OS X amd64-64-Bit Compressed References 20201112_760 (JIT enabled, AOT enabled)

More info in the crash report attached.
