1.16.5 - Error after trying to shadow a dependency

I am trying to shadow GeckoLib3 into my mod. However, every time I build the jar file and launch Minecraft with it, I get "mods.toml missing metadata for modid geckolib3." How can I fix this?

build.gradle:

buildscript {
    repositories {
        maven { url = 'https://maven.minecraftforge.net' }
        mavenCentral()

        classpath 'gradle.plugin.com.github.jengelman.gradle.plugins:shadow:7.0.0'
    }
}

apply plugin: 'com.github.johnrengelman.shadow'

// Only edit below this line, the above code adds and enables the necessary things for Forge to be setup.

So I got the jar working by copying and pasting GeckoLib's mods.toml into my own. However, I still can't run the mod on my dev environment. It gives this error:
