Java 8 not working.

When I try to use Java 8 on 1.12.2 it doesn't work, it give's me this error: A problem occurred running the Server launcher.java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException

(Also I heard that 1.12.2 is not supported on this forum anymore but I need help so if you must recommend me to upgrade I can not as some of my mods aren't upgradable, help would be very appreciated even if you can redirect me somewhere else to ask this question.)
