Latest version of forge for 1.18.1 seems to have a bug preventing me and my brother from playing together locally

This is also happening to my husband and myself; we can play for some time (roughly 4 hours) and then it will kick whoever is not hosting the game. The full stacktrace:

Nothing is mentioning a specific mod, all seem to be referencing normal java classes and I cannot see what specifically it is encoding.  We removed his player profile completely (deleted the UUID files in playerdata folder) and the problem persisted.  Each player restarted the session, then the game, then the computer.  Both players can use the same save on singleplayer, issue only occurs when using LAN.  No issues with internet connectivity or local interference.  No issues with previous versions of Minecraft using LAN.

Will be glad to offer additional information if necessary.

The problem appears to be with Create.  Figured this out through trial and error.

Hey my brother and I are running into this same issue (Connection Lost Internal Exception: io.netty.handler.codec.EncoderException: io.netty.util.IllegalReferenceCountException: refCnt: 0) and I had originally tried to run the server with Create, but before he joined (I'm hosting on LAN), we removed Create and Flywheel from our mod folders and were able to play for a few hours before this error started persisting for him every join attempt. We definitely don't have Create included, did it perchance cause some sort of residual changes to other files?

Same issue.  My son hosts a game and I get this error every time.  Yes, it's Create mod.  Anyone having any luck around this?

This Bug is also at other Mods.. Minecolonies... and many more
