So I am changing the efficiency float for my tool material but no matter how much I change it there is no different effect.

public static EnumToolMaterial AmethystToolMaterial = EnumHelper.addToolMaterial("AmethystToolMaterial", 2, 500, 8.0F, 2, 10);

EDIT: Changing the effect only seems to change my pickaxe's efficiency, not my axe's.

AmethystPickaxe amethystPickaxe = new AmethystPickaxe(503, AmethystToolMaterial);

AmethystAxe amethystAxe = new AmethystAxe(504, AmethystToolMaterial);

So it seems that only the pickaxe get the effect of changing the efficiency, all other tools dont change.

They should all change, but that's the efficiency when using the tool to harvest the block it's made to harvest. Try making a shovel and compare the speed you harvest dirt with your tool material with the speed of a wooden shovel.

6.2 is apparently slower than a wooden shovel...

That's really weird  ???... Efficiency is the 4th argument (3rd number, the one you posted as 8.0F). You sure that's the one you're changing?

Yep, I'm definitely changing it, but it only changes the pickaxe's efficiency though.

Maybe something with the new version. I haven't used EnumToolMaterial since 1.5.2. Let's wait for the pros' opinion on this one. It could be a bug on forge or you could be doing something that's deprecated and no longer supported.
