Error when trying to open modded forge server

forge-1.12.2-14.23.5.2847-universal is the version

We generally do not support older versions; however, since yours seems to be an issue with java version, I will make an exception. 1.12.2 requires Java 8 to run. It seems like you are running with a later version of java.

i installed java 8 after i read something online about it, how do i make sure it opens with java 8 and not java 19? since that seems to be the problem

Either specify the path of the application to be the java 8 executable or make sure Java 8 shows up on the PATH environment variable before java 19. Probably should set JAVA_HOME to the java 8 location as well.

how do i do this, my java 8 is installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_351

You can google how to add something to your PATH environment variable and create a JAVA_HOME one.

just tried and it didnt work, instead it stopped me from opening the vanilla server file too

Try replacing implementation with minecraftLibrary. Dependencies in the minecraftLibrary configuration are added to your compile and runtime classpaths in ForgeGradle 6.

Failed loading villager cartographer registered at cartographer - frozen tick

Allocated 10 Gb of ram. Could try again with more but I read using too much can slow things down as well. Going to try another big modpack and see if i can replicate the problem. It seems like this cartographer problem is kind of popular and doesn't have a solid solution yet, but i suspect its some generation mod since it's a crash that happens when specific chunks are being loaded. so i'll still try to lookout for what mod it could be as i add. i'll report back after testing as you suggested for a bit

I have no idea - is enough RAM allocated?
Do other pre-configured modpacks work? Maybe use such a modpack as working base and add new mods one by one

The settings.gradle file has been fixed. But, the build.gradle has an error now.
Error:
