Download: http://files.minecraftforge.net/BiomesOPlenty/ "Latest" builds are not guaranteed to work, and we are not responsible for any problems caused by them. Be sure to use the "Recommended" build unless you are feeling brave! We have an IRC channel on irc.esper.net. #biomesoplenty Don't forget to select the Biomes O' Plenty world type before creating a world! Description: Biomes O' Plenty is a mod that is designed to give players a better Minecraft world to explore, and more of a reason to explore it in the first place. There are a lot of realistic biomes, some fantasy biomes, and other cool things we've added to the mod. There are other features in the mod as well, such as different tool tiers, a new tool called the Scythe, which is used to clear grass, leaves, and other plants quickly, and some other cool features that tie in with other things in the mod, like the blow dart. ------------ It also adds custom achievements, all of which are just picking up blocks from certain biomes, like red rock, glowflower, etc. There's also a set of "Biome Finder" achievements that you get for entering all of the different biomes. They're just meant to give people more of a reason to explore and have fun. Village generation has been changed to allow villages to spawn in most relatively flat and realistic biomes (No fantasy biomes). The biomes villages can generate in is completely configurable, as well as the distance between villages. However, the distance between villages is only affected in the Biomes O' Plenty world type. The villages also use different materials for buildings depending on the biome. Emerald ore and the new gems can be found in the following biome types. Note, it doesn't apply to EVERY biome in that category. Emerald - Forest/Mountain-based biomes Ruby - Desert-based biomes Peridot - Grassland-based biomes Topaz - Jungle/Tropical-based biomes Tanzanite - Snow-based biomes Apatite - Swamp-based biomes Sapphire - Water-based biomes Horses also spawn in grassland-like biomes, such as the Orchard and Meadow, as well as some other temperate biomes like the Lush Desert. Installation Instructions: Download the latest version of the Forge installer from here: http://files.minecra....net/. Run the installer and select client/server. Start Minecraft using the Forge profile. Exit the game. Download Biomes O' Plenty above and place it in the mods folder. Re-launch Minecraft and have fun! NOTE: In the server.properties file, you have to change the level-type setting to BIOMESOP. NOTE: Don't forget to change your config file if you want to toggle biomes or change the biome size. All biomes are enabled by default, with a biome size of 4. For reference, Large Biomes has a size value of 6, and the old Small Biomes world type from the mod was 2. You can change it to any value you'd like, however. FAQs: Q: Can I add this mod to a mod pack? A: Yes, as long as you give proper credit (Linking back to this thread, etc.), and don't make any money off of it (Adf.ly, etc.). You don't have to get explicit permission from us either, just follow those two rules. Q: Where is the 1.6.2 version? A: The title says '1.6.x', implying that ANY version starting with '1.6' works with this version. So: Use the download link up the top, Q: What is the point of the separate world type? A: While it may not seem like there is a huge difference between the regular worldtype and the Biomes O' Plenty world type, there certainly are differences. These include: Alpha Beaches in the Origin Valley biome, custom village generation and overriding vanilla biomes with our enhanced variations of them. Q: Why are biomes from the Twilight Forest appearing in the overworld? A: The biome IDs from Twilight Forest and Biomes O' Plenty overlap, and cause biomes from the Twilight Forest to generate in the place of Biomes O' Plenty biomes. You must change the IDs of the Twilight Forest biomes so they aren't the same as any Biomes O' Plenty biomes. Q: Why do some items appear as muddy tools, when it's not actually a muddy tool? A: It happens when new items are added, and you still have an older config file. You should delete your config file with every update, and let the mod generate a fresh one when starting Minecraft again. Q: Is this compatible with ExtraBiomes XL or other biome-adding mods? A: It should be, although you will have to test it for yourself. Q: What other mods is this compatible with? A: It should be compatible with most mods, but we've added special compatibility/integration for Forestry, Thaumcraft, and Thermal Expansion, and are looking to add more integration with other mods. Again, we can't guarantee that a mod will work with the mod, so you'll have to test it for yourself. Q: Does this remove vanilla biomes? (Jungle, desert, plains, etc.) A: No. You can still find vanilla biomes in the game with the mod installed, however, they have minor tweaks and changes, unless you disable the setting in the config file. Q: Does the mod work with the Large Biomes world type? A: It only works with the Large Biomes world type if you have the option to add the biomes to the default world type enabled (It's disabled by default). Q: Can you add ____ biome? A: We have no plans to add any more biomes at the current time. And if we do add any new biomes, they'll be whatever TDWP_FTW decides on. Q: Why do desert biomes generate next to tundra biomes, and so on? A: Where biomes are placed is out of our control with the current terrain generator. We can only change which biomes are generated for now, not where. Q: Can I decompile, rehost, or alter the mod for any use other than personal use? A: No, absolutely not. We don't care what you do with it for personal use, but do NOT rehost the source or compiled mod with another link other than the two in this thread. You cannot use any code from the mod for another mod either, unless you have direct permission from me. Q: Can I make textures for this mod for a texture pack? A: Sure. If you want your texture pack with mod support to be added to the section below, feel free to post in the thread, or PM one of the developers of the mod. Thanks to gamax92 for the initial conversion of the mod to Forge. He's pretty much disappeared from the forums, however. Thanks to Karganeth and Silentspy for helping us with quite a few things regarding mod compatibility and other important fixes to the mod. Thanks to enchilado for letting me use his old gag tool/armor textures (I tweaked them to look like mud though). He also did the actual mud armor texture that appears on your character. Go check out his awesome texture pack, Rakepack. It's sort of an "improved vanilla" pack that improves pretty much every item. October 24, 201312 yr Can we get a list/pictures of the biomes in BoP? I hadn't gotten a chance to update to the anniversary version before you guys moved over here, so I can't tell if my config file has everything in it or not.
October 24, 201312 yr Oh man, all these hoops just to post. Anyway, How do I disable the update check message? Im using the newest builds, not the 'current' builds. it's annoying and obnoxious after the first time.
October 24, 201312 yr Author Looks like all the links to old versions or compatible mods are "broken". Will get onto it when i have some time, thanks for being more specific http://i.imgur.com/Tuh0c5r.png[/img] Developer
October 25, 201312 yr Author Had to just remove the downloads completely, they were stuffed to a point where the original download link for all of them wasn't understandable making it so i couldn't fix them. http://i.imgur.com/Tuh0c5r.png[/img] Developer

October 31, 201312 yr I run a BOP Server, and everybody on it is clamoring for an update to 1.7. Any chance of an estimated release date for the update?
October 31, 201312 yr Author I run a BOP Server, and everybody on it is clamoring for an update to 1.7. Any chance of an estimated release date for the update? All we can say on the matter is "A long time". We'll have to wait for when MCP and Forge are updated and go from there. http://i.imgur.com/Tuh0c5r.png[/img] Developer
November 3, 201312 yr Can you make it so a player can disable an item by setting the id to 0 in the config?
November 3, 201312 yr Seconding Paxlacks, kinda. The overworld gems are useless. I want to disable them without having to use another mod just to do that. Also, config to disable that "HEY HEY, CHECK FOR THE UPDATE." message. Again, using the newest builds. Seeing how you have to actively pick these updates, it's silly and obnoxious after the first time seeing it.
November 3, 201312 yr Have you seen the discussion Page? if not please take a second to do so and answer the 1.7 questions there sorry and have a config for 1.7 and 1.6.4 to disable and enable achivements or add achivements and etc
November 5, 201312 yr Where can I find the downloads for 1.6.2? Thank you Added this to the FAQ, take a look there. As stated in the FAQs with regards to Minecraft 1.6.2, I downloaded one of the BOP versions on the downloads page (the one at the bottom of the page). I have Forge updated to the latest 1.6.2 version. However, when I started up Minecraft, Forge stopped it and said that I needed to update to a newer version of Forge. But when I checked on the Forge Website, the coresponding version was for 1.6.4. I cannot update all of the other mods I have to 1.6.4 and I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to do. Please help. Thanks. pensfan044

November 5, 201312 yr Hey another quick question. Minecraft is telling me that there are block ID complications and I am assuming that BOP is not compatible with some of my other mods. Are any of the following mods not compatible with BOP? Uncrafting Table Jammy Furniture Mod Extra Doors More Explosives Portal Gun Mod Railcraft Traincraft Thanks. pensfan044
November 5, 201312 yr If minecraft screen comes up with "ID conflicts" before game starts. There should be a file generated inside your .minecraft conveniently called 'ID conflicts' Open that file and it will tell you exactly what mods and their IDs that are conflicting. Once you know what it is, it can be easily adjusted using the config file. The config file is again, in your .minecraft folder, simply open the config folder and find the mod conflicting and simply change/adjust IDs accordingly in one or the other.
November 6, 201312 yr I found the ID conflicts file in the .minecraft folder (it was 255 holy sand in BoP conflicting with ores in Traincraft) and went into the config file for BoP and changed it from 255 to 244 (244 is an open slot). Then when I opened Minecraft it told me that I still had ID issues. Assuming that it would be some other block, I went back into .minecraft to look at the conflict file. However, the conflict file was unchanged. I made sure to save the BoP config file after I edited it and I also went back into it to make sure my change was still there. Is there something that I missed? Thanks. pensfan044

I would suggest trying to change the ore block in traincraft instead (<---change it to 251) and save that file and see what happens
