Redwood Trees

Featured Replies

I'm trying to grow a redwood tree and I can't seem to figure out how to make it grow. I've left them in arrangements from 1 alone to 49 of them in a 7x7 square for hours with plenty of space around them and I haven't had any luck. Is there some trick to getting them to grow?

How much space? I had 3 groupings of 3x3 set up in a redwood forest with nothing obstructing it around for 4 blocks in any direction and nothing above any of those blocks. They sat there for hours and none of them grew. I also tried four stacks of bone meal on them trying each of the saplings. I've also tried in a creative superflat world and haven't been able to get one to grow with bone meal and had it there for a decent amount of time as I tested other things.

Sorry for the late reply. I forgot I posted about this here.

Update: I left it running in creative for approximately 3 and a half hours while I was out and none of them have grown. http://i.imgur.com/ixsuc53.png
