[Solved] MCP download failed

Hi there,

I wanted to create a small mod with several special textured blocks. So firstly I downloaded the forge source files (version 9.11.1.916).

After the installation get the file list of amazonaws no of the files can be downloaded. There's the same error for each of the 923 files:

Gathering assets list from http://s3.amazonaws.com/Minecraft.Resources
    Downloading 923 assets
Download of READ_ME_I_AM_VERY_IMPORTANT.txt failed md5 check, deleting
Download of icons/icon_16x16.png failed md5 check, deleting
        [...]

Things I tried:

* Installation with Windows 7: Same result

* Installation with Linux Mint 15: Same result

* Another forge version: Same result

* Doublechecked the internet connection: Works fine

* Wrote a simple PHP script to download the files listed in the XML-file: Download works, but if I run the installation again, all files were removed because they are modified:

READ_ME_I_AM_VERY_IMPORTANT.txt Modified, removing
Download of READ_ME_I_AM_VERY_IMPORTANT.txt failed md5 check, deleting
[...]

Are there any ideas what else I can try? :\

Best regards

Copy and paste the Assets folder from .minecraft in to the jars dir in side the mcp folder. That should fix it.

The problem is Mojang pushed a texture update like thing and it changed the md5's of the files so yeah after forge is done installing copy and paste that like I said before.

    • The issue was resolved by doing the following: Upgraded Forge from 50.0.0 to 50.0.9 Added reobf = false to build.gradle
    • Unfortunately, you probably won't get any help with your problem here, since this is the Forge forums. As it says in the FAQ that you presumably read before posting, "We only support Forge here. We cannot help you with Fabric, Spigot, etc..." Forge and Fabric are completely different and run by different people, so it's unlikely (to say the least) that anyone here will be willing or able to assist with a Fabric problem. I'd recommend joining the Fabric Discord Server that's linked on the Fabric website. They might be able to help you there. I'd also recommend notifying the developers of whatever mod you're using.
    • From what I've found, you can only manipulate the player's motion on the client side. It's extremely annoying. If you know how to use packets, you can use packets to transfer the information from the server. Take a look at my implementation on GitHub here if you want. You'd want something similar to the way I've done the PlayerAddVelocityPacket. Unfortunately, packets are rather complex; I'd recommend you watch a few tutorials on them before even trying to work with them. Feel free to use my code as a reference, but please give attribution if you plan to directly copy it.
