Installer Problem: No Launcher Profile

So I've been using Forge for quite a while all fine, until the 1.6 installer came out. I made a separate directory for this particular set of mods I wanted to use. But when  I clicked to use it, it said: "The directory is missing a launcher profile. Please run the minecraft launcher first." However, I did run it through the launcher first, and it has a profile and everything! I renamed it, and it still didn't work. WHy is this happening?
