Launches and then tells me there are no valid mod files.

As title.

I am not used to being unable to figure this stuff out. I must be getting old.

Basically I get an error when trying to launch. All mods are 1.20 and I updated forge. Not sure where to go to next? All threads I found were trying to load old versions of mods. I don't think that's my issue.

Please let me know how I am being an idiot.

Forge version and mod versions have to be the same

Quickstack is for 1.20.1, Simplestorage is for NeoForge, not Forge etc

 

For modding, use 1.20.1 - not all mods are updated to 1.20.4

Install Forge 1.20.1 and run the game once

At Curseforge, make sure you get the 1.20.1 forge versions of these mods
