Where are you calling createAttributes() ?

you may have to do this:

@Mod.EventBusSubscriber(modid = MOD_ID, bus = Mod.EventBusSubscriber.Bus.MOD)
public class ModEventBusEvents {
    @SubscribeEvent
    public static void registerAttributes(EntityAttributeCreationEvent event) {
        event.put(ModEntityType.AFRAID_BOSS.get(), AfraidBoss.createAttributes().build());
        
    }

}
