Other than removing distant horizons, is there another way to resolve this issue or conflict?

What is the exact issue or conflict with distant horizons?

Do you have shaders active?

Most shaders do not work with distant horizons

Create a separate Instance and only start with Embeddium/Oculus and distant horizons

Make some tests with different builds of these mods and different shaders until you work a working combination - then add the rest of your mods

Try my Modpack

Try the JVM argument in this post, just sub xmx/xms numbers for what you want/need allocated.

I'm having the same issue with a huge modpack using the 3 culprits to your issue.

Let me know if this helps!
