Forge 1.12 doesn't download a file

I've recently tried to play Minecraft in 1.12 version to use some old mods, but every time I try to start the game, no matter which version of Forge for Minecraft 1.12 I choose to download, the Launcher gives me the following error message:
Failed to download file.
Name: 1.12-forge1.12-14.21.1.2443.jar
URL: https://s3.amazonaws.com/Minecraft.Download/versions/1.12-

I don't know how to fix it.

Use a Custom Launcher like Technic Launcher and search for a "Clean Forge 1.12.2" modpack and use this as working base

Okay, but does the modpack works with 1.12 or just with 1.12.2, because I need the Forge client specifically for Minecraft 1.12, not 1.12.2

It seems that the Forge 1.12 file isn't downloading properly due to a corrupted version folder. To fix this, first, delete the corrupted folder in the `.minecraft/versions` directory. Then, restart the Minecraft Launcher and try downloading the version again. If the issue persists, check your internet connection or consider using a VPN to bypass any download restrictions.
