Posted April 2Apr 2 hi fellas I remember back when I was in high school and had way more time to develop mods, there were tons of active posts, and while the documentation wasn’t always super extensive, you could always find someone to help you out with your questions or see someone else’s threads that were really informative. But lately, I’ve noticed that the forum seems pretty empty compared to how it used to be. I’m wondering, is there a specific reason for this? Is it just that the community has moved to other platforms, like Discord? It feels like a lot of the knowledge base and conversations have shifted over there. I’m just curious to hear others’ thoughts on this, and if anyone knows why the forum has become quieter, I’d love to know! Thanks! Most of the modding discussion has definitely shifted to Discord servers and sometimes Reddit, since they offer faster responses and real-time collaboration.Forums like this used to be the main hub for documentation and troubleshooting, but now people prefer quick chats or sharing snippets on GitHub and Discord. The downside is that a lot of useful info gets buried or lost over time instead of being archived like it was here. Edited 5 hours ago5 hr by RyanMitch52
5 hours ago5 hr I agree, and that's why I've enabled the RSS notifications for the forums on my phone. Often times it is difficult to share things on here that can be condensed into a single forum post. As for development, the discussion that happens on GitHub is not for releases but rather for the active development of the feature itself. I'm happy to discuss more things on the forums in the future, but I've been more focused on keeping my head down and getting things working. There's still a lot to do with the toolchain before I can do more things on the forums and the Forge project itself.
