[1.6.4] Inventory Overlay

I was looking into building something similar to the standard inventory display on the main screen. I've seen a lot of tutorials on building containers, but I haven't found anything about inventory displays that are always on the screen. I'm comfortable pulling from the code base, if someone could just point me to a class or two to look at that would be great.
