Around a year ago I played a 1.7.10 version of the copious dogs mod, it was fine, everything worked, no issues. Now a year later, I try and start it up again and place the exact same file in the mods folder and the game keeps crashing and gives this message:

The game crashed: initializing game Error: java.lang.NullPointerException: Initializing game

It also gives the code -1.

I don't know what happened and what I can do about it, it is the only mod in the folder so it can't be clashing with other ones and it worked fine before. Just for sure I tried deleting and redownloading Minecraft, but that didn't help. I went looking for the mod and downloaded it fresh and tried again. No changes. So if anyone has any ideas, I'd be grateful.

Yes I've tried that one, that one works. But the one I'm trying to use now has more breeds, and again, it worked fine a year ago, so I really don't get what's wrong.
