I have minecraft forge installed, java installed, and all the mods are unzip. But the mods don't show up in game, and im pretty sure they are in the right folder.

Do not unzip mods - put the mods as jar files into the mods folder

For easier installing, use a Custom Launcher like Curseforge App

You can create a Forge profile and add mods via search function

Or use a pre-configured modpack as working base and add some mods
