with 1.6.4 and prior with items tooltips you could make them localized with I18N (Example:

par3List.add(I18n.getString("triforce.tooltip.strangeEnergy"));

and then you'd localize it in the lang file.

but now I18N has "setLocale" and it takes a "locale" not a string and i don't know how to use it.

could someone please explain the new format?

Use

StatCollector.translateToLocal("triforce.tooltip.strangeEnergy")).trim();

so it would be

par3List.add(StatCollector.translateToLocal("triforce.tooltip.strangeEnergy")).trim();

that's how they translate display names from unlocalised to localised (the name in the lang file)

and I've used it in addInformation myself in some of my items

Thank you both. StatCollector worked just fine.
