Got a suggestion that I think will make things a whole bunch easier for a lot of mod users. The idea is this: make it so different versions in the minecraft versions folder have their own mod folders, hence enabling players to switch between modpacks with each version. I am aware that a lot of work is put into forge and that it is not easy, but I think an implementation of this feature would be very useful.

Ex:

        /roaming

              /.minecraft

                  /versions

                        /1.5.2-Forge7.8.1.783

                            /mods

                                  -Mod A

                                  -Mod B

                      /1.6.4-Forge9.11.1.965

                            /mods

                                -Mod A

                                -Mod C

Thoughts?

The new Minecraft launcher already supports this functionality completely using "profiles". Nonetheless, it is not something that Forge would implement even if it wasn't already done by Mojang.

"Game Directory" option in the launcher.

.minecraft/mods/<mcversion> is also supported.

This isn't building better software, its trying to grab a place in the commit list of a highly visible github project.
