[1.7.2] Using the Ore Dictionary in Crafting Recipes?

Is there a way to get a crafting recipe to call from the Ore Dictionary so that it will look for items that fit a specific item type? for example I have 4 items in my mod that are essentially the same thing but are needed for a crafting recipe that is shaped but not suppose to be spot specific e.g.

XY
BC

is exactly the same as

YC
XB

so instead of an individual line for each possible way to craft it, i want to have 1 line that will cover each possible way. it seems to me that the ore dictionary would do this but after toying around with it, i do not see how i can get it to actually do what i need it to do.

You could try making each of the individual crafting recipes. Like, you could tell it you want a shaped recipe this is like:

XY
CB

Then make another one that is:

YB
XC

And so on. I'm not sure that you can use the Ore Dictionary for it, because that basically lets you make an item the same as an item from any other mod (so like, a copper ingot from your mod could be used in Metallurgy). On the other hand, I'm still a noob myself and haven't used the Ore Dictionary at all myself, so I don't know.

Make a shapeless recipe with the four items.

Don't PM me with questions. They will be ignored! Make a thread on the appropriate board for support.

I have about 80 recipes because i did individual ones to start. Im want to try and remove 90% of them, but the more i think about i start to realize that by doing what i want to do you allow all 4 items to be the same which i dont want.

I want it to be shaped so it makes sence to what you are making.

Well i guess i either have yo make my own crafting manager or leave it be. Which since i already have them all made i guess i will leave it be. But i would still like to know if the stated question is possible.

Then you need to make a custom CraftingHandler to make check if four different items are in the crafting grid.
