Posted May 7, 201411 yr I don't want deathmessage in my mod like: Player157 was slain by Player84 Is there a way to deactivate them?
May 7, 201411 yr Easiest way is probably using some of the Forge Events. There are some entitydeath events, but a quick look didn't reveal to me any messages. You might look deeper. There is also a ServerChatEvent that you could intercept and delete if it is a death message. Again, you will have to look at how you would determine it is a death message. May 7, 201411 yr Author I tried this but with no success @SubscribeEvent public void removeDeathMessage(ClientChatReceivedEvent event) { if(event.message.toString().contains("slain")) { System.out.println("Hi"); //Just to look if it works } }
May 7, 201411 yr Author You need to use the methods in IChatComponent, not toString(). Also did you register your EventHandler? Etc. etc. I registered the EventHandler. @SubscribeEvent public void entferneTodesNachricht(ClientChatReceivedEvent event) { if(event.message.getUnformattedText().contains("slain")) { System.out.println("Hi"); } } This works but how i stop the message?
May 7, 201411 yr Are you sure "slain" is going to catch all of them? I don't think that word is in there for falling, suffocating, burning, exploding, ect. Long time Bukkit & Forge Programmer Happy to try and help
May 8, 201411 yr Author It works now: @SubscribeEvent public void entferneTodesNachricht(ClientChatReceivedEvent event) { if(event.message.getUnformattedText().contains("slain")) { event.setCanceled(true); } if(event.message.getUnformattedText().contains("cactus")) { event.setCanceled(true); } if(event.message.getUnformattedText().contains("drowned")) { event.setCanceled(true); } if(event.message.getUnformattedText().contains("blown")) { event.setCanceled(true); } if(event.message.getUnformattedText().contains("doomed")) { event.setCanceled(true); } if(event.message.getUnformattedText().contains("shot")) { event.setCanceled(true); } if(event.message.getUnformattedText().contains("burnt")) { event.setCanceled(true); } if(event.message.getUnformattedText().contains("fire")) { event.setCanceled(true); } if(event.message.getUnformattedText().contains("killed")) { event.setCanceled(true); } if(event.message.getUnformattedText().contains("escape")) { event.setCanceled(true); } if(event.message.getUnformattedText().contains("finished")) { event.setCanceled(true); } }
May 8, 201411 yr Good deal. Glad you got it and shared it for others. Also love the German for "Remove Death Message", assuming google trasnloator got that right. Long time Bukkit & Forge Programmer Happy to try and help
May 8, 201411 yr will that also remove regular chat messages that contain those key words? Edit: Yes it dose I am the author of Draconic Evolution
May 8, 201411 yr You can improve it a bit by doing the following @SubscribeEvent public void entferneTodesNachricht(ClientChatReceivedEvent event) { String player = event.message.getUnformattedText().substring(0, event.message.getUnformattedText().indexOf(" ") + 1); if(event.message.getUnformattedText().contains(player + " fell out of the world")) { event.setCanceled(true); } if(event.message.getUnformattedText().contains(player + " was slain by")) { event.setCanceled(true); } if(event.message.getUnformattedText().contains(player + "was pricked to death")) { event.setCanceled(true); } if(event.message.getUnformattedText().contains(player + "drowned")) { event.setCanceled(true); } if(event.message.getUnformattedText().contains(player + "blew up")) { event.setCanceled(true); } if(event.message.getUnformattedText().contains(player + "was blown up")) { event.setCanceled(true); } if(event.message.getUnformattedText().contains(player + "was doomed to fall")) { event.setCanceled(true); } if(event.message.getUnformattedText().contains(player + "was shot")) { event.setCanceled(true); } //Etc } I am the author of Draconic Evolution
