How does the TileEntity update function work. How do you call it. How do you start it?

So you just have to have a onUpdate method in your TileEntity class?

onUpdate is for entitys. You just have to override  updateEntity and it will be called every tick. updateEntity is a method from the tileEntity class which your class should extend. e.g.

public class MyTile extends TileEntity {

@Override
public void updateEntity()
{
	//any code here will be run each tick
}
}
