Hello,

I wanted to ask if there is a tutorial to create a side mod (or sub mod, or addon or what ever it is called) of an existing mod.

I've searched with the search function of this board and with google but i can't find a tutorial.

I using the minecraft forge version 9.11.1.964 (as well as the mod developer).

You're going to need the decompiled class files and packages of the mod you want, and put them into your projects workspace.  Then you can make references to functions and items and such inside that mod, and it will compile.  After it's compiled, delete the compiled class files for that mod from the JAR.  There's probably a  way to exclude the files you don't need from the compilation, but I don't know it yet.

If you're adding support for a mod that you didn't write, say Buildcraft, (as opposed to creating a core mod that all your other mods require) then you're going to want to wrap everything you add that makes reference to Buildcraft in an "if" statement, which checks if Buildcraft is loaded.  Otherwise, Buildcraft will be a dependency, and your mod won't work without it.

You need to get the mod in a deobfuscated form (with MCP names) or use BON (Bearded Octo Nemesis, google it)

Seriously.

i tried, but it dont work:

java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\Users\Zodiak\workspace\forge\mcp\conf\joined.srg (Das System kann die angegebene Datei nicht finden)
    at java.io.FileInputStream.open(Native Method)
    at java.io.FileInputStream.<init>(Unknown Source)
    at java.io.FileReader.<init>(Unknown Source)
    at immibis.bon.mcp.SrgFile.<init>(SrgFile.java:18)
    at immibis.bon.mcp.MappingLoader_MCP.loadSRGMapping(MappingLoader_MCP.java:117)
    at immibis.bon.mcp.MappingLoader_MCP.<init>(MappingLoader_MCP.java:105)
    at immibis.bon.io.MappingFactory.registerMCPInstance(MappingFactory.java:32)
    at immibis.bon.gui.GuiMain$1.run(GuiMain.java:188)

i've installed MCP 8.11 as the tutorials says but i have no idea why the file is missing
